NEW YORK
(Reuters Health) - Paging script-writers: Pumping on a patient's chest during CPR while a stretcher careens down a Hospital hallway works just fine, Chinese researchers have found.
By straddling patients on the stretcher -- think "ER," the American TV drama -- Paramedics can get them faster to and from the ambulance while still doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
What hadn't been clear was how that precarious...
Third of U. of C. patients keep appointments
In the First five years of its Controversial Urban Health Initiative, the University of Chicago Medical Center has successfully steered thousands of people with non-urgent ailments from its Emergency Room to other South Side Hospitals and clinics that could serve as a "medical home."
But a bigger challenge has been getting people who schedule appointments through the U. of C. program to keep them.
Since the initiative was launched in 2005 with help from First Lady Michelle Obama, then U. of...

I had a conversation the other Day with a doctor who is the head of a neurotrauma rehabilitation center. His specialty is dealing with patients who have suffered strokes or other injuries to the brain.
He told me the story of one of his patients, an elite athlete who was training on a bicycle when he crashed and suffered brain damage. Initially he was paralyzed from the accident, but through intensive Therapy his limbs began to regain some of their strength.
Still, the path was long for him,...

Fashion Rating: Shenae Grimes @ 2010 CBS Summer Press Tour
I really wanna say that compared to her various "90210" co-stars, Shenae Grimes did well in not looking like an upscale Prostitute , but there were many other ways she could've gone about it. This dress is just isn't hot, that's all.
Just like AnnaLynne McCord went to the extreme end of the style spectrum and ended up looking like a Vegas Call Girl, Shenae shot herself to the other end of the spectrum w/ this outfit. If she was 40-something, then it might work, but...

MediaDailyNews: Broadcasters Balk: Big Nets Want Nielsen To Wait On Weights
Based on conversations with its biggest customers - the major broadcast Networks - it does not appear that Nielsen will make its self-appointed deadline of Monday to begin implementing a plan to change how it "weights" its national TV Ratings, including mathematical adjustments that would reduce the representation of homes with computers connected to the Internet, and would boost the representation of younger households.
During a briefing with Nielsen on Wednesday, the major Networks,...

Flashpoint: TV Show's Future Undecided on CBS
Though the Flashpoint series isn’t very expensive for CBS to air, the network certainly seems to have lost some enthusiasm for the Canadian-produced drama. It’s been a staple of CBS’ Friday night schedule for three summers but it remains to be seen how long they’ll continue to air the modest performer.
Season three of Flashpoint began airing on June 4th and the 13 episodes are set to finish running on August 20th. Supposedly, the network will still have another nine...
