Probe into alleged past abuse at Florida reform school finds 'insufficient evidence' of crimes
A 15-month state investigation into allegations of abuse decades ago at a Florida reform school has found "insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges" against school officials, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said today.
"With the passage of over fifty years, no tangible physical evidence was found to either support or refute the allegations of physical or sexual abuse," the FDLE report concluded.

Orlando TV station reports judge in Ereck Plancher case steps down
NBC station WESH-TV in Orlando reported on its Web site this afternoon that the judge in the Ereck Plancher wrongful death lawsuit against the University of Central Florida stepped down Thursday morning.
According to a story on the station's Web site, Plancher's lawyers had requested that Judge Julie O'Kane withdraw from the case because of her husband's law firm was a support of UCF athletics.
UCF football coach George O'Leary was scheduled to have a deposition Friday.

$20,000 in tools reported stolen from Bonita Springs FPL
An investigation is underway into who broke into a Florida Power & Light compound and stole thousands in tools.
According to a Lee County Sheriff's Office report:
Stan Adwell, a foreman for FPL, told deputies someone cut a hole in a fence, entered the compound at 26301 Cutting Horse Lane in Bonita, and cut the locks of four vehicles.
The culprits took off with about $20,000 in tools.
